I am looking for a release that will not open unless the trigger is puller. I have had a release in the past that sometime opened when drawing or holding and that caused problems. I am a string loop shooter and am looking for something that will not break the bank ($50.00 range)

Thanks

Second the Jim Fletcher. The one I have has an adjustable trigger.

I just purchased a Scott Lil Goose (my 2nd in 10 years) for $40. Has an adjustable trigger and I've never had it go off on 'accident'. These are GREAT releases and the customer service is 2nd to none.;)

I have a really nice release, new in the package that I'd be willing to sell if you're interested.

It's a Tru-Fire Hurricane with the fold back feature. Sells new for $65-$75. I'd sell it for $40.

I have used a Scott Mongoose for several years, never had a problem with it firing on its own. NOw as for me punching the triggger, that's another story...;)

I've tryed many many releases over the years. I still shoot my scott itty bitty goose thats ten years old. Trigger pull is adjustable. Mine will go off with the slightest pressure. Has never gone off without hitting the trigger. My girl uses a little goose. They're hard to beat.

I have used the truball stinger release for 5 years now. Seems to work well with me. I believe I paid $35. Jaws are only open when trigger is pulled.

I don't think you can go wrong with a TruBall or a Scott...

Sounds like yours is deffective or the trigger travel set screw is not set properly. Take it to a shop and let a tech look at it...that shouldn't happen IMO.

I'll throw my vote it for the Scott as well. I have shot a mongoose for 12 years and have had no problems at all. Great releases

A release is just like any other piece of equipment. What is right for me may not be for you and you get what you pay for. My best advise would be to go to your local pro shop and play with a few.

Having said that I would suggest the TRU Ball line of releases. I have the Titan buckle now and have used TRU Balls hand held releases in the past. Whatever brand you choose I would stay away from velcro and get a buckle strap.

I use tru-fire and have never had the release open pre-maturely.

i guess i'm number three for the fletchers. i like the around the wrist with the strap to the release and a trigger like on a gun rather than a straight bar.

Agree 100%. Can't go wrong with either mongoose or lil goose.
