I just got this old boat with a vintage evenrude motor the motor is Circa 1970 Neer had fuel hooked to it. It isnt getting spark but I am sure I can fix that. But I hope to rig it up for some fishing

wow thats a cool boat, what size motor does it take to push it. it looks to be in pretty good shape for its age. I would love to have one like her.

well I am trying a 100 horse on it....it came with a circa 1970 evenrude 100 horse that has never had gas hooked to it, We will see how it does

Not yet I have it all out in a buddy poll barn. I will be out there sometime this week. I am excited it need a new deck (floor) but in it I thought for fishing I might do the outside of the cabin with composite teak colored deck boards. That was i can just hose anything down in the bilge. Then put some plywood and good indoor outdoor carpet under the hard top.

Pretty sure this is what she would have looked like new.

Ok From what i have been able to find online. It came in the ranges of 35 to 120 horse so 100 horse should be right in line with where it needs to be. One of the few I found online says it will go 35 mph with a 90 horse. I would imagine thats top speed. I have trouble believing it is on 1300 pounds. I might even get away with towing it home with my s-10. I am going to try and find a tow vehicle for this summer. I can tow it home to work on it with the s-10 but I doubt I will want to tow it very far even if it only 1300 pounds

sweet. I put back together a 1973 starcraft myself. needed everything but was worth the effort as I just love that old boat.

What did you use as a deck. I also thought diamond plate wouldnt be bad either

Aluminum diamond plate wouldn't be bad. It would probably need a little more support underneath. It would be lighter than wood. If diamond plate is used, I would spray it's surface with some truck bed liner. The truck bed liner would give it a more slip resistant finish.:)

Has anyone used a composite deck...like for a house? Thought if I had a bilge pump in this wouldn't be a bad way to go?

I used marine plywood, and then marine carpet.

You most certainly could use composite decking.
