We have 2 x67c's between my brother in-law and I. We are planning on running one x67c as our main depth sounder/fish finder via the regular transom transducer. Can I run the 2nd one up front with me with my ice-transducer when we are jigging? Would I be better off with the transducer for a trolling motor and then rigging it off of a peice of pvc or should I just do some rigging on the ice transducer and attach it to a peice of pvc so it stays where I want it?

Will we have interference being at opposite ends of the 14'?

I wouldn't worry about interference between the two units. I have a 67 on the bow of my 17' with a higher power x-15 on the back. No problems.

A transducer on the trolling motor would be more convenient than a temporary mount. You'll need to estimate how many times you'll use the setup, and if the money for the new transducer is worth the convenience.

My friend has tolerated using a C-clamp to temporarily mount his transducer for years.

I would still have to "rig" the trolling motor transducer as we run a transom mounted trolling motor. I'm thinking some zip ties to some pvc that is c-clamped to the top rail of the boat and just using the ice-transducer that I have. We'd probably only be using it in the spring when we are jigging the Detroit River.
