Brewed a brown ale yesterday, ended with an OG of 1.080, I pitched the yeast cake from an amber I brewed last week.

Within two hours C02 bubbles pushed threw the one-inch tube about every two seconds,
six hours later krausen began moving threw the tube,
twelve hours later the outlet bucket filled up,
I’ve switched to a larger bucket since these photos were taken.

If you have the opportunity to brew once a week try pitching the cake from the previous brew especially with higher gravity beers.

Looks good brother! I'm jealous...I haven't brewed for almost 6 weeks now. I need to get me some ingredients and soon!

Quick questions for ya. I'm not being picky, but I notice you have your blow-off tube above your carboy. Don't you risk the chance of that sucking your sanitized water/discharge back into your carboy? I've always thought that the sanitized water bucket must be below the carboy to prevent any such mishap.

Great looking brew! :corkysm55

Your absolutely right, the bucket shouldn’t be higher that the carboy, I just tossed it up there short term. I think initially there was enough pressure flowing out that it didn’t draw any water back into the carboy.

Good...I thought I remembered that part correctly. :p

Excellent looking brew. Too bad you live so far away. It'd be nice to swap a couple brews once in a while.
