Ok guys I need your opinions on a bow for my son. Should I get a used one?
Should I buy a new one? I know he's gonna grow like a weed in the next couple of years (hell, by the way he eats maybe next couple of months:yikes:). I dont really want to spend a lot of dough on something he might grow out of in one season. He's 13 now and wont be 14 until december.
Thanks
DCG
I am not very familiar with many kids bows but my cousin has a browning micro-adrenalin and it has alot of draw weight and length adjustments for growing kids. I found them on AT and for 150. I cannot post links, I dont have enough posts. So go to AT and then go to AT sponsors forum and the look for CLEARANCE OF FACTORY REFURBISHED BOWS. I think this bow goes for around 350 at a store.

I have had quite a few kids bows, and the sweetes one out there is the Diamond Edge package for $299. You can get 50 pound limbs, and u to 28 inch draw length, so I am sure he will not grow out of it soon.

The Micro Adrenalin is well under $200.00 at a store.....and it is not a good bow for the situation he described.
Look at a Martin or Bowtech in the 45-60lb range.....they can be turned down to 35lbs or so, and grow with him until he is old enough and has earned enough money to buy his next one!!! ;)

there is one major problem to all of this. i have set up 13 year olds that can shoot 60 pounds or more and have a 27 inch draw length and i have set up 13 year orlds that can barely draw 30 pounds and have around a 24 inch draw. if he is a smaller framed kid, something like the diamond edge would be great. goes down to around 25 pounds, and up to 50. the draw can get lower than he will ever need it and goes up to 27 or 28, cant remember which. another option if he is larger framed kid would be something like a bear element. retails for 299 and draw adjusts by a module. they come in 50 pound weight also, which we can take down to 35 punds or so and go up to around 50, maybe 53 pounds. take a drive down to clio with him and stop in to Hicks and we can see if there is something that the both of you like and will last him for quite a while.
