I was looing at the Darton Website and I saw an upgrade package that included a Scorpion Replacement String and a String Suppressor. Does anyone have any experience with either?
Do the String Suppresors really work on eliminating hand shock and noise?

If you are looking for a new string I would check out www.wolfden.com (http://www.wolfden.com), just put Jason's string on my bow and love it.

I agree with the above. If your going to get a new string...get the best. He's in Michigan, inexpensive and quality is second to none.
As for the supressor...
Hand shock? Maybe a little.
Noise? Yeah...a little there too.
What a string supressor DOES do is this.
It adds forgiveness to your bow.
It can add speed if you take off string silencers and let the supressor do it.
It can keep the string from smacking your wrist.
It kills string oscillation.
It can make you slightly more accurate.
How?
The power stroke is dictated by how long the arrow stays on the string in the forward motion. "Speed" bows have a shorter brace...they stay on the string longer= more power stroke=faster speed for a given draw length.
The con is that the longer the arrow is on the string, the better your form must be and the more time the shooter has to screw something up before the arrow is clear of the string and on it's way.
The string supressor, properly placed, gives you the full benefit of a full power stroke but stops the string at the point of brace providing a cleaner and quicker release of the arrow from the string.
The arrow is free quicker, more forgiving.
The arrow is free quicker, you can pick up speed. (I've seen 2-3fps is all)
While it's very difficult to prove any "Forgiveness" testing I have gained 9-10fps from a bow by losing the string leeches with no noticeable increase in noise.

I appreciate the input, is there one suppressor that is better than the other?
What would the benefits of a "better" string?
