In theory....would the longer or shorter brace height bows shoot a better arrow out of a WB? I realize there are many factors, form being the most important. And I realize that many people feel that BH is less of a factor as far as forgiveness out of the newer bows. But in theory, would you say a longer or shorter brace height would be better suited to the WB? For that matter, is longer BH more conducive to all rests as far as arrow flight and not speed is concerned?

Here is my take on it.....

With a shorter BH, the arrow is on the string longer.
Nock travel is not perfect, and is never completely square, geometrically, with the bow.
So, any subtle flaws in form or bow-tuning will exacerbate the paradox of "straight" arrow flight as it tries to recover after leaving the string, as opposed to the nock being on the string a shorter period of time.

Actually a pretty good question really. Considering where the WB lines up before the shelf on the bow you are in essence reducing the BH for all intent and purpose. So the distance between release from the string to the Rest is narrowed with a shorter BH but increased with a longer BH. So now for the million dollar question that you have posed- which is better suited? In all honesty I'm not sure there is a right or wrong answer due to the WB actually "correcting" any potential side to side motion which is less prone to begin with in a longer BH. But if I was to venture a guess, because there is less chance of what Ninja describes in a longer BH, you are already starting with a better arrow path of flight. Meaning less friction from side to side sway from the arrow through the bristles which in the end should allow for better arrow flight and less speed loss. Of course that's merely my opinion.;)

I shoot a fairly low BH bow (hoyt vulcan) with a WB. Paper tuned it in about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the input all. Nice talking to you on the phone Ninja. I'm trying not to get sucked into this brace height thing but I can't help it !!! lol
