Not gonna catch, gonna play CF next time out, but we all know how that's gonna work out. Says the Dodgers are interested in Inge - I think an NL team would be a good fit, especially one managed by Joe Torre. Might this be a chance to rebuild the farm system that was depleted after this winters' trades? LA has always had a good farm system, but not sure if that is true now.

You're not going to get anything of value for Inge. So trading him will be based on factors other than what he will bring in return.
I think Dombrowski gave Inge the best career advice there was...re-incarnate himself as Catcher, back up Pudge for a year or 2, and he will then be an $8 million a year catcher. His offensive numbers would be looked at a in completely different context as catcher than they would be as a 3B.

Factors like his huge salary, he doesn't want to be in MoTown, etc.? And I think there are different definitions of "value" - no, not gonna trade him for a big league all-star, but like I said before, might be able to get a younger minor leaguer.
Though I do still like him on the bench for a backup 3B - better range than Cabrera (w/similar no.'s of errors) when he has to be put in the DH role because of injuries.

Exactly.
You're not going to get a prosepct that is slated for the big leaguers in return.

I don't think so, either. But the Dodgers are deep in pitching. Any one who could fit into the bullpen would be nice. They're not going to get a top prospect, though. With Mantei going down (big surprise), Cruceta still stuck in another country, they are thin again.
I really don't think they'll get anything for him, though. I also think he should stop talking to the media. He's really giving himself a reputation he doesn't deserve.

• Dylan Hernandez, L.A. Times: "Contrary to a published report, the Dodgers don't appear to be interested in Brandon Inge of the Detroit Tigers, in part because of the $19.1 million he is owed over the next three seasons."
