Same thing at Indy. A few bumps but no hook ups. Current was not bad-can't blame that on the skunk.

3 of us fished the river by the Coast Guard Station/Bay Yacht Club from 4-6:45pm. Water clarity was "coffee with creamer in it." No electronics with us, so I'm not sure on water depth. Took me 4 seconds to get a #7 Jigging Rap to hit the bottom. Current was tolerable, but still moving pretty well. A few minor bumps before 6pm. All action came from 6pm till 6:45pm when we left. Total of 3 fish landed: (2) 12-14", (1) 18.5" keeper. (1) lost halfway up. Used a variety of Swedish Pimples, #7 Jigging Raps, Do-Jiggers, and spoons. The keeper was caught on a #7 Jigging Rap (Blue/Silver) tipped with a minnow head on the treble.
We were hoping with the change in the weather coming in on Sunday that it might pick the bite up. Didn't seem to happen.
Good luck to everyone.

Fished 1st street from 2:30 to dark.. My buddy caught a big male 24 inchs..Also a small 16 inch male. I saw one guy down from me catch 4 around 15 to 16 as well. Other than that I didnt see squat. I didnt mark a single fish or have a bump all night. All the fish I saw were caught between 6:15 and dark.. I will say this has been the tuffest year for me on the river in a long time..Ive spoken to a few freands who are still killing fish 6 miles out?? I think its time to get a sled again?????

3 of us this morning off sailboat school launch at mouth. Nothing. Tried as shallow as 8' just before daylight, and moved out to 18'-20'. Then drilled 4 holes about 20' apart going into channel. Tried all 4 holes(up to 25' in depth) for 10 min. or more a piece, nothing. Was trying for perch and walleye, with perch rigs, teardrops, and spoons and jigs. Only a few dink perch were caught and 1-6" wallleye. Left by 10:30 a.m. Lots of ice. Atleast a foot in most places, almost 2' in out of current. The current wasn't too bad, used a 2/5 ounce spoon with minnow on channel edge without too much line downstream.

Same here......this is only my 2nd year fishin the river. Last year year I caught well over a hundred walleye, this year Im barely over double digits. I have been goin out on the bay the last few weekends and have been doin pretty good. Got 3 keepers yesterday and our group got 11 keepers and we didnt start fishing until 5pm. Friends of ours that were out all day got 5 limits. Hope they start coming in shallow soon!

51* here in Burton this morning. It doesn't look like the warmth will hang around for long, but I don't think this weather is going to help matters on the river. There was good ice last time I was out, but with all the run off and faster current it won't be long now. Next week it is also looking like mid to upper 40*'s for a few days.

Be safe, take a spud.....

Thanks everyone for the reports. Might try it out here in a little bit.

IMO, i think after today, the river is gonna get crappy again with the rain, and melting snow. So, today might be the last time out to fish the river while it's decent before it get's crappy.

Unfortunately I think you're right. These rains and high temps have been ridiculous this year. But on the bright side, hopefully this rain will bring the bay eyes in closer.

I was just out driving around, there is MAJOR run-off and without a doubt it's going to take out the river ice. All around st charles, cheasing and flint the water is raging towards the saginaw river. Be carefull guys.

yea the water down south is going to hurt, around here in bay city its not to bad but I see it was almost 60 in the flint area. I look for them to dump some more waste also.

Look for a "the river is full of Brown again" thread soon.

This warm rain should definitely bring fish in closer. There are fish in the river, to be sure. I've seen 'em.
