Been out three times this week fishing mid-day a few hours each time out. All I can say is SLOW, SLOW, AND SLOW.

I'll second that. Haven't done squat out there this season. One thing I've noticed is that the specks I have caught have been unusually pale. Has anyone else noticed this?

I've been out there 5 times this year and the best is 15 on Crappie by myself. Last Sat. with the 2 of us we got 15 in 4 hours. I might try again tomorrow if my son wants that instead of 200 small perch at Muskegon. The pale color of the fish might be from the color of the water, I've noticed that water clarity is only about 2 feet. I've been working 60 hrs. a week so I can't spend a day trying to find them , just going to the old hotspots. I'll let you know if we do anything tomorrow.
ifish4eyes, you going there tomorrow?

I may head out there tonight after work. I have never fished Reeds before, any advice? Also what is everyone catchin specks on? I have only limited ice fishing experience and have only fished for gills with waxies.
Thanks
Sorry for the late response, I catch all my Crappie on Northland Forage Minnows tipped with Spikes or waxworms. Usually I fish in front of the firebarn in 35-40 ft. of water. I've also caught them in front of the boat ramp and in the se side of the lake. Sometimes you have to drill a few holes to find them, if you see a small pack of guys see what they are after and if they are marking them on there fish finders. they usually suspend in the deeper water around some type of structure. Good luck, I'll be out there tomorrow from 07:00 - 10:00 am, will post results.

I'll have to beg the wife and make some promises, I try.
Ifish4eyes: save the promises for another time, Reeds was SLOW, only 3 crappie in 3 hours, don't know where they went, but by the number of people on the ice no one seems to have had any luck this year. Can't wait to get the boat out again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
