Stopped in the little Pet food/bait store near south river road and jefferson to get some spikes. He showed me some perch that someone had dropped off to him earlier. He had some hogs. They were caught at the end of South river road. I went down there and gave it a whirl. Took me a while to find the fish, but when I did they were big. I got to fish for a little over an hour. I came in with 37 nice fish. My biggest was an 1/8 inch shy of 14. Mostly 9 and 10's. I had 13 over 12 inches. They really wanted the fire tiger rapala today. I was really surprised that there wasn't more people out there. Everyone must have went to gino's. Will post a pic later.

Boy, I'd sure like to know where it was, too.
I was at the end of South River today at the launch from 4:00 until dark in Campau Bay. There was only one other guy there, and I didn't catch any to speak of...

Couple years ago, I sat in Beacon's cove at second pressure crack from daylight to 1pm caught 3 dinks. I was fishing with another member of this sight. Moved 15 yards and put four rods down, had non-stop action on only one rod for next 3 hours. Ended up with 27 hogs 11 plus all caught on one rod.
I wish I could remember what that jig with a minnow looked like.lol
That is fishing and I have seen it happen plenty of times on inland lakes.
My 2 cents.

I just spent more time than I cared to trying to clean up and save this thread. To those that had legitimate posts deleted, I’m sorry. To those that can’t type a response without name calling or attacks, your next one will earn you a strike.
Don, thanks for the report. If I don’t go to the other side this weekend, I’ll call you for more info. Sorry about the direction this thread went. I didn’t see it till this morning.

I went their this morning before reading this post their are four wheeler tracks on the ice i took my machine out their no problem minmal 8 inches of ice out of ten holes and that was of coarse over buy the blue sea wall.As for the fish everyone seemed to be looking around alot of bouncing and we didnt really see people come out till we gave up at nine:dizzy:I hate fishing with other people. As for fish didnt get one out over 7 inches:sad: maybe it is a minnow bite i was using spoons the dinks were pounding it though as it was a larger ken the skinny mini i would assume the bigger fish would take it too.Their is a bad spot over buy the blue sea wall you can clearly see the water bleading through the snow be sarefull out hteir as that ice is always a little more dangerous.

Good job on the fish!:)
Were you fishing in the morning or afternoon?
I drove by that location right around 2:00pm on Wednesday and there was one black shanty and one other person sitting on a bucket in the cut going into the HPYC.
The ice looked like it was slowly being eroded from all the run off coming out the mouth of the Clinton river and all the little cut's that run under South River Rd. and into Campau Bay.....be carefull out there.:fish:
