Throughout this forum guys have stated they hunt with their wives or girlfriends. Well I thought I'd put a specfic post to see how many guys do. I'd also like to know to what extent they hunt meaning do you sit with them or do they go on their own?
My husband sat with me till I shot my first buck then I was on my own from there out. He taught me everything down to gutting out my deer. I can even quater it up but, he does it because he says I take to long. I was interested to know how many females do it all on their own.

I have yet to convince my wife to go hunting with me. I have gotten her fishing but the hunting thing might be awhile yet. I hope she goes soon though. More huning more food hopefully

I didn't hunt as a kid, but my dad and brother did, so I was no stranger to fish & game. When I met my husband, he was an avid hunter and so I became interested in it, too. In 1989, he set me up in a deer blind and "set me free". Now I can't get enough hunting seasons - deer, bear, turkey, partidge, etc. He only deer hunts. I hunt everything I can - especially archery. I'm willing to do my own field dressing, but, like Born2hunt, I'm a little slow and the men get impatient and take over. I usually hunt by myself, but firearm deer camp is a family event. During archery season, if I need help dragging the deer, I just call my husband on the cell phone and he comes to my rescue. Life is GOOD!

My wife, Kerri, loves to hunt. We start this week on her second turkey season, and she wants to start waterfowl hunting this fall. She has taken no deer yet, but has hunted hard for two seasons.

My wife and I do most everything (else) together. If she would hunt with me, I'd do it any way she might prefer.

My Fiance'started hunting with me 2 years ago. I bought her a compound bow and she took to it naturally. She has had a couple of chances for a deer, but didn't get a shot off. Now I hang 2 stands in the same tree so I can help her if she needs it. I think she will like bird hunting once I can get her out there. For myself, I enjoy hunting much more when she is with me.

My wife and I are a hunting and fishing team. June is in many ways is a better hunter than I will ever be. She loves to spend as much time as possible out in the woods, especially during archery season. She can sit as still as a stump for hours on end.

I am normally the one that hangs the tree stands and she is the one that see all the deer. Normally the big bucks. She got a shot at a nice eight pointer this pass fall, but unfortunately we lost the blood trail after going a half mile into the swamp. I am convinced that this deer will survive, we will be looking for him this fall.

June has hunted solely on her own several times, when I have been away on business. She shot a nice spike horn in southern michigan, where she did all the scouting and picked the spot totally on her own. She needed a little help loading the deer into the truck, but she field dressed her trophy by herself.

Obviously, I am very lucky to have a partner who is a real huntress to share my passion for all that nature has to offer.

Thank you all for responding, it is kool that so many guys hunt with their wives. I only wish more men had your mature attitudes regarding hunting with females. Everyone here gets a thumbs up from me.
Jam glad to see there is another die hard huntress out there.

My wife deer hunts in a seperate blind, 1st yr I sat with her, she shot a spike, then it was on her own(Her Idea), she and I do the baiting/scouting. Bear-separate stands, she and I bait. She hasn't dressed either yet but whose complaining. For birds she and I go but if I am busy she will go alone. We also fish together as much as possible.

Nope, my wife wont go hunting with me. She did a few times when we were dating, but she thought it was a waste of good shopping time.
My daughter is already planning on hunting with me this fall. Well walking along anyway, shes only 6. She loves going scouting and is pretty good at Turkey calling, so this fall she is wanting to go along on a bowhunt or two.

My wife doesn't hunt with me. She showed some interest when we were dating but once we had kids she lost it. She would rather spend time with the kids than go hunting. My brother lives close to us so I mostly hunt with him. I think my wife will start hunting if both my kids (5 and 3) show an interest.

Glad to see so many other women hunting. I've been hunting with my husband for 7 years - archery, gun, turkey, rabbit - and just began trout fishing last year (love it!) Know no other women personally to enjoy it with. We're now moving "north" to enjoy being in the field more often.
