Lakes Cadillac and Mitchell were turning up some decent pike and pan fish. But it's been three weeks since I was up there.

I will be heading back to Mesick this Saturday with the kids and nephews/nieces. I always take them to Glengary, which is straight north from the Mushroom Bar about a mile. TONS of pike, but not a lot of size to them, which is fine for taking the kids out. Lots of flags all day. Stop by if you can, and I'll point you to where the bigger pike lie...;) It's less than a mile from there.

But seriously though if you want big pike try the backwaters, try Burtons landing you drive right past it on your way up 37. I like to stick to the shallows around 6 fow and with sucker minnows as big as you can get. Once in a while you will even get a walleye to take a ten or twelve inch sucker ou there, no kidding!!!!!We've gotten quite a few over 30 inches over the years and a few pike over 40 inches you just have to put in your time.;)

Thanks for the info guys, probably will be targeting panfish mostly tho, not to much of a pike fan, if i catch one I might keep it, might not... Thanks for the info, how is the ice on the lakes?

Anybody been on Hodenpyle pond in the last week or so? I'm wondering if theres too much snow to run quads on the pond??? Usually make at least one trip up there every winter and haven't made it yet this year. Would like to make one before eye season closes on March 15th.....

about a foot of ice, but it changes a lot depending on where you go because of the current, ive seen the ice go from 12 inches to open water in 8 hours so be careful!

From what I've seen out there, it's about 50/50 of snow ice and black ice. a total of a foot or so. Haven't been there since last saturday, so maybe it locked up some, but last week there was about a foot of snow with 4'' of slush on top of the ice.
