I wanted let you guys know that may or may not be fimilar with the area,but the spillway itself was open water a few days back and has since capped over. Would hate to hear someone out there cruising by at nite and fall through:yikes:. If any of you decide to ride that way at nite, stay out and away about a 1/2 mile or so from Beacon's Cove and you'll be fine.
Just wanted to pass along what could be good info.

Clinton river overflow.Runs from harper and wellington cresant to just south of Eddies drive in on jefferson where it ends dumping into the lake.

It is South of Ginos and Beacon's Cove, Then you will see Hide-a-way harbor, DNR launch,then you will see another marina which is Velger Boat Harbor. The spillway is on the other side of Velger Boat Harbor.

I always did good out behind the 400 club at night, now I havent been out this year so cant really help you. Tell smoker to go out from the condo's south of the lions park. If you stay in line with there marina entrance the water stays pretty deep. I would try maybe a 1/2 mile or so if you can get out that far???
