Well, I bet we'll read about some people swimming at Brandenburg again soon. Drove by this evening, there had to be 4 or 5 shanties set up right where the open water has been. It may be a few inches of ice but i'd find it hard to believe enough to support a quad. I could be wrong, but is it worth taking the chance.
I chose to pass on fishing this past weekend sounds like i made a good choice. I will get out this week once or twice if i'm lucky. Interested to know kow the water clarity is around cotton and north?? I'd appreciate the report.

I haven't heard the word Brandenburg in like a month. The water clarity at Cotton is day to day. Sunday wasn't bad, I could see bottom in 5 fow. Today it was pretty cloudy, 4' visability in 7 fow. 1 nice fish by Toker. Long period of sustained strong wind comin though...

Plenty of ice at Cotton

The water clarity has probably changed with the snow. Saturday, in areas it was a bit murky and I could only see down about 4 feet. Sunday afternoon I could see the bottom in 5-6 feet in most areas. I worked the jam both days and kept 40 fish each day that were between 8 and 10 inches. It was impossible to stay on the fish and I was constantly on the move. I probably covered the jam as far as you can see. It is hard to tell what these fish are doing; they may be headed out deep. There was a shool of pigs in there but they lost me! Also, for every fish I kept I probably threw back AT LEAST 5 dinks.
