OK.. so now that I know what a burbut is.. We went out and caught a bunch em and we are having a fish fry on Tuesday..
My question is what are some other good ways to cook Burbut besides fry'n it?
I guess that is if anyone out there eats it...

Baked, broiled, fried, or pickled. Burbot is good any way you serve it. Don't see too many talkin about them on here. I know it's my gramps favorite thing to go catch, and then eat. Enjoy your dinner tomorrow.:)

I catch them quite often on my lake trout tipups, I think they taste like crap. Good Luck.
Since you've probably figured out where the meat is on these fish, the best way I've found is boil them in 7up. Melt some butter for dipping, and have at it, and whit if he has any left, I would be amazed. BTW, boiling pike in 7 up the same way is good too.

Going to attempt to catch one or more this weekend. Any "special" way to clean them or just kind of filet them as regular fish? Never caught one or cleaned one so I running blind...........
In a way its sorta like a deer, in the sense that the meat is along the backbone. It should like like a round tube, so to speak. Thats really all the meat there is, but its worth it once you eat one.
