I bought a very clean 1956 Evinrude (15 hp) from its original owner and would like to install a fuel pump on it so that I can use the single line fuel tank I have now. Has anyone ever done this and if so, any tips on where to purchase or how to NOT goof it up would greatly be appreciated.

Hey jakeo,
This link will put you in contact with a club of good old boys who know their vintage outboards inside and out. They are extremely helpful. Good luck.

You're entirely welcome. I bought a 1955 Evinrude 3hp outboard last summer...looked like new, but it didn't run. I'm mechanically challenged :D so I looked for help. I found that site and those guys helped me get my motor purring like a kitten. Good luck.

I just got a EVINRUDE FLEETWIN 2 CYL. MODEL 4447-91245 on eBay for 50 bucks, best part it was only 40 miles from the house so no ship fees. Going to get it in the morning. Guy says it runs great but needs new paint and tune up. we shall see
but 50 bucks seems like a win if just for parts. I am a newb to old outboards but have wanted to get my feet wet for years. Well i just got a new 10ft flat bottom from gander and figured i would get a old motor to push it up and down the river this spring and summer.
Anyone else have this motor?

I have a similar 1952-54 Johnson JW-10 Seahorse (3HP, identical to Evinrude Fleetwin) - good luck. I though I had mine licked, but now it's not running again.
