Anyone fish Perch in the rivers?

I hear they run the rivers but I have no idea when, or how to fish them. Slip bobbers? On bottom?

Thanks!

Perch can be found in the lower stretches of many rivers in the spring (March-early April), and again in Oct. -early Nov. We catch them every spring in Vets Park/ Bay City on perch rigs w/minnows. Also have caught lots of fish in Quanicassee and Sebewaing rivers. When the spring run is on, perch can be found in almost any river or harbor on Lake Huron.

I'm over on the west side of the state up in TC.

I wonder what the perch numbers are like in Lake Mich compared to your side of the state this year?

I haven't tried for perch on the Lk.Michigan side in many years, but in the past ,I know there used to be a good spring run in Hamlin Lk. and also Manistee Lk. I couldn't say about recently, though....:fish:Also ,I know at one time you could slam spring perch a lot farther south, around Holland, Saugatuck and Grand Haven, but again I don't know about recent years.
