Is an Avid a float rod?

I am looking for a float rod and I am a fan of St. Croix. I was wondering if the Avid would be a good float rod, or is it more of a Spey rod. Any insight will help, or suggestions on other rods would be great.

St Croix was manufacturing a 13 avid float rod. It was discontinued last year. They still make float rods in the wild river series. They have a slower softer action then the avid rod. Some like a slower action , others do not it is all a matter of personal preferance. There is talk they may introduce a new avid blank this summer. Other companies I would take a look at would be Loomis or Raven.
