View Full Version : A Lil' Fish Eater
fish eater

First, before I get into the post, I would like to apologize to the Mods for putting this here. I know it should probably go into the soundoff forum, but I have a ton of friends on here and a couple clients that never read the soundoff forum. They usually just browse here in the DR/LSC forum since that's where most of my posts and most of our fishing takes place. So...on to the news. It appears that there's going to be a little fish eater joining our ranks. The box tests came back positive Fri. morning, and my wife has been acting weird and showing all the symptoms of pregnancy the past couple weeks. Our doctors appt. was today @ 5 oclock. They estimate that Heather is about 6 weeks pregnant and our due date is October 9th. We've been together for 9 years and married for 5 years on May 17th. This will be our 1st child. She's obviously stoked. She's been bouncin off the walls. I on the other hand, feel a whole mix of emotions. I'm excited, nervous, happy, anxious, shocked, you know....all that stuff. What's it gonna be? Will it be healthy? How the hell am I gonna pay for this? Will it love to fish? Will it make the proper adjustments for post-cold front Walleyes? Will it comprehend the purpose of shank and leader lengths for wirelinin with his old man? Jiggin? Pullin Meat? Pullin Cranks on boards? The Southern shoreline migration routes? As you can tell, all the most important questions are racing through my mind. Anyway, I guess that's about it for now. Time to start patching some walls in the nursery.:dizzy:
Congrats!! I am sure he or she will know all the hot spots around the local waterways. Especially with you as an old man.

That is great news!
Witnessing the birth of all three of my children surpasses any fishing experience I have ever lived and I'm sure you will feel the same way.

You know the boat is as good as yours whenever you need it. I've already been thinking about where to put a baby seat in so I can take my niece out with us:).

Matt you get a baby seat in your boat your going to have to drive like miss daisy, no more high speed trips out to your favorite fishing locations and always keep the depth of water under the boat at least 10':D..Cya Slick

Soon as the weather starts getting nicer outside where we can sit on the deck, we'll have to stop by one night for a couple cocktails. I guess I'll just have to go ahead and have Heather's share.:p I'll give you a call soon John.

fish eater, congrats to you!!! I have been a dad about 20 months myself and I had the same questions that you had, including the walleye issue too. I was concerned about health myself but the doctors were great. Mine was 11 weeks early and was just a touch above 3lbs, and now she is in the top 3percent in height. Can't wait until she stops crappin her pants!!!! Anyways, enough about me, congrats once again!!!

That was some pretty good SHi..... The weird part is that I am the one thats hauling hers away.:dizzy:
Great news Scott!!!:one_eye:- You are going to love being a Dad regardless of whether the baby becomes a fisherman or not!:gaga: Don't worry about all of the uncertainties - God gave you the baby and God will help you provide;) And don't sweat it - I have 6 children and my oldest is 12 - and I had an awesom fishing year last year. My 3 oldest are boys and they love to walleye and perch fish - especially perch. My 6 yr old daughter showed up her brothers last year by catching the 1st fish one day when we were out. The 4 tear old uses an ice-fishing rod - and is all geeked to get out there this year - and my babygirl is still too young to get out there yet. They all like to eat the fish:corkysm55. I had to buy a bigger boat - b/c the 14ft aluminm was gettin too crowded! - So it does get expensive - but that'l just make you work harder!!!
ENJOY - they grow up fast.
