I was in the Bahamas last Sunday with my wife and we attended St. Francis Xavier Cathedral for Sunday morning. I find it somewhat of a shock to say now that the service was the absolute best thing about my entire vacation. We stayed at the Atlantis (which is incredible, and if you can ever go, go), and the weather was amazing, and everything else you could want, but the mass on Sunday keeps coming to mind. The native church was so welcoming to visitors, the choir could bring you to tears, and the atmosphere was unbelievable. It was touching to see everyone gathered outside after church when at home most people can't run to their cars fast enough (I guess the weather could have something to do with that).
I guess my point is that two years ago before my then girlfriend, now wife, led me back to God, I would not have even imagined going to church on vacation because I would have probably been too hungover. Thank God for her, our oppurtunity to take such a wonderful trip, and for being there last Sunday for those perfect two hours in paradise.
