Do any of you ever put in at the Selfridge access and ride your atv over to Cotton Rd to avoid all the parking problems at Cotton Rd?

I did it a few years ago. There were some bad pressure cracks, I remember cross and don't go to close to the shore. The last year I seen a van or truck go through close to the shore trying to make it to Cotton road area from Selfridge, I think he was selling coffee, hot dogs and such. I'll bet if you go you will see where other people took there ATV over there and you can follow there tracks, that is what I did. Tight lines.

Which one? :D I saw at least 3 trucks go through last year and after the third one went in it screwed up the ice so bad that a Wrangler was stuck on the ice and had to drive North to find some way to get off.

You might be hard pressed this year to go from SANG to Cotton on ATV. I fished SANG yesterday and there were maybe a dozen cars in the lot but NO ONE was using the canal or the seawall for access due to the pressure crack. Everyone was walking outside the lot down to the end of the road and putting in at the end of the road. Crack still goes down that way but you can get across though you might get a wet foot due to standing water on one side of the crack. Ice was about 8" 1/2 mile out.

There is a bad crack at the sang launch. I wouldn't take a quad from there. two weeks ago the dnr guy said he wasn't letting anyone take a quad out of the launch.

good luck

I tried to buy one at Lakeside over the weekend and they said that they did not have the 2008's in yet. They said that the new tags will be ready on 3/1/08. I didn't regtister mine last year so the tag that is on there is from 2006. I couldn't see spending $15.00 bucks for a 2007 sticker that I can only use for a few weeks so unless you know where to get the 2008 tags, I will have to take my chances with the DNR.

Good luck.

$15.00 im sure is alot cheaper than the cost of the ticket. I know it sucks to pay for it if you are only going to use it for a few weeks.
