walleye question

Does anybody try their luck for walleye in the winter months on lake st. clair,if so any luck???? I have tried in the past with marginal success and gave up on it. All input appreciated.

also would like to know, i think with no machine though i couldn't get out very far.

We can definetely get into some. Your best bet is either off of ginos or the the spillway where you can get into 10-12 fow relatively quickly. It seems to be better towards last ice when they move toward the weedlines for the spring. You can also try off of the point at metro where ive had some good days. Now that we have some cold whether we can get into some deeper water. Cotton rd. now has about 8 inches of ice, which is about 2-3 more inches then was there on saturday! Lots of guys were going way out today! Just got to move around to find them but I had some great days out there last year after the late cold snap. You'll be seeing me out there before too long! tomorrow morning im headed to the spillway, i'm gonna see how far out i can make it, anyone have word on clarity, either at the spillway or cotton, or ginos, jimmys

spillway just refroze as you know and the damn is probally still stightly open so their is runoff and current still coming down be carefull I have a spot i want to try lemme know how thick the ice is twards ginos i wanna run a machine!

We had our camera down off of Gino's (about 1/2 a mile, 8 fow) and it was neat to see a few small, 7-8 inch walleye mixed in with the perch. Like Jiggineyes said, if you can get out SAFELY to deeper water, you can find the keeper eyes :corkysm55
BYW: It was really making ice out there yesterday and a few quads were running from Metro to Ginos.
