12-5pm

water murky, viz about 2 feet

fished 7 FOW, kept 38 out of 80 or so, mostly 7-8"s...had one jumbo thrown in there

i rate it a poor day

wigglers, red hook, GID bead

bite was extremely light...most fish caught a foot off bottom

the wind started howling a bit about 2pm....cant believe the diehards out there sitting on the buckets!!!

Thanks for the report, think I'll wait till the wind dies down later in the week. How was it getting on the ice, it was a b*%# saturday.

fish their saturday from 7-1. Fished off to the left of the ramp for a few hours in 7 fow and didn't get much at all. Then moved infront of ramp in 4-5 fow and caught about 50-60 with 4 guys, kept about 20 in the 7-8'' range with a couple going 9-10.

Does it ever get any better than that out there? I've fished selfridge and a couple different canals. Seems this is the norm whenever I fish at lsc. I've yet to land my limit or even a better catch then mentioned above. Is it rare to catch 30 decent fish or is luck from day to day? Does the bite really turn on later in the winter? Next trip planned out is in 2 weeks.

Depending on when we have last ice could be late febuary or march just depends on the weather.A few years ago late March was totaly awesome.

It can be very good all winter. That early ice / late ice thing isn't all that much better, in my opinion. 30 a day (over 8 inches ON A RULER) is realistic when:

1. You have clean water
2. You move around a lot to find fish
3. You figure out how to get them to bite, which usually changes throughout each day
3. Other people don't screw things up for you.

Try off the wall stuff - you might be suprised.
Good luck. Some days you can limit out.

Now guys are going to come on telling you how they killed them at late ice, etc. And so have I. But I've also killed them in February...

Just my two cents.

If you going to the Day Sail ramp why not head over towards Gino's? It always has bigger fish to me.. Day Sail always seems to have Dinks FOR THE MOST PART.. Just my .02..
