do pike beat each other up while spawning? this fishs belly was all bruised up. also look closely and you can see where about a foot of this fishs tail was in something elses mouth...something very very big...this fish has a bite mark like you find on a perch...i doubt ill swim in the lake after seeing that. [skinny dip you say? :yikes:]

did they look fresh? if not it could've been attacked when smaller and scars grew, doesn't look like the case though, they look fresh in the picture. probably a big st. clair musky, or a huge pike chasing it away.

Was it definitely a bite mark or could it have been that a spear-chucker only grazed the tail end of it?
Otherwise I'll second what MIfishinGuy that is was probably a monster musky or pike.

Pike do attack each other and muskys attack pike so thats probaly how the bite marks got on the fish.

I took a 35" northern a couple weeks ago, and the tail area was absolutely mangled, with fresh blood on the tail. It did not look like it was caused by a spear. Yikes, I would like to see what was trying to eat a 35" 10lb pike....
