I knew I was in for a great day when I managed the last spot at the little house at the end of the road. Walked a LONG way out and had wet minnows by 7:30. Couldn't see all the way down in 8 fow, but the water was cloudy not muddy...Walked well out past the traffic and after an hour, there were tons of people near me and much further.
Anyway, cought tons of perch, threw back all the debaters and took home 8 nice fish 4 of them were the ever elusive jumbos (this year anyway).
The crack at shore was worse going out than coming back thanks to the people much smarter than me that bring planks!!!
I figured I'd post up my catch and see how everyone else fared.

Thanks for the report, was thinking of trying it tomorrow. Are the planks being left out for others to use? I have a some I could leave out there if there are none there now. Would just need a quad or help carring them.
I smacked em pretty good out there again today. Not as big of fish as last weekend but i still managed 41 keeper perch and a handful of dandy sunfish. Fished out past the crowd and wigglers were catching most of the fish...but minnows caught the larger fish.Hammerd brass swedish pimple with a red flapper was my best bait today. Seems the Bite slowed just before noon so i headed to sugarbush for a burger and a brew. Headed back out around 2p.m. and took another long walk. The wind really got nasty blowing straight from the west and it made me a bit nervous being way out so i moved back in. Anyone know how much open water is out in the lake????

Thanks for the update guys.
Was contemplating where to go in the morning, supposed to be heading out with a few buddies and was wondering how the ice/water clarity was up that way.
Thanks again.

we hit it just to the south of cotton in the "other pack of fisherman", caught maybe 40 perch or so between 3 of us. all of them 6" - 8", caught most of them around 11:00 to 1:00 ish, wind and rain came in and turned the bites right off, it was my first time out there and had fun except it was a little scary going on and then back off through the slush and random holes in the ice, but I will go back hopefully with a little better luck!

Enough where you don't want to be way out on a West wind.
Looking to the North from Clinto River entrance, most of Anchor bay is open.

Anchor Bay looked pretty solid from my vantage point at Cotton Road today. Here's a site that will help, sometimes....

I fished to the north a little in about 6 ft of water. I got out and was fishing by 7:30 till 1pm. I was able to keep 23 fish, with 11 fish between 9.5 to 11 inches the others were a little smaller than 8 in. I was using minnows and spikes . Almost all of the fish I took were caught using a chorme russion hook with a red dot on it ,and a minnow . I only managed to jig a couple small ones with spikes, after changing hooks a bunch of times , what seem to ok was a red with yellow dots russion hook . I think I took 2 or 3 just keepers with this hook .I had to do alittle sorting ,I threw back maybe 20 dinks . The dinks I landed hit really hard ,and most hit on spikes. Most of the jumbos hit really soft on minnow ,I was in my shanty watching my minnow threw the hole .I was just able to make out the strike . My friend I was fishing with did about the same. I like to thank the genius what brought out the wood to get out on the ice ,which kept our feet dry ,and had a good day of fishing .BE CAREFUL THE LAUCH IS PRETTY BAD!!!:SHOCKED::SHOCKED:GOOD LUCK TO WHO GO OUT TODAY.I'm not going out today . Have to help a friend fix his truck what a bummer. There is always next weekend.
