Has anybody got their info back on the age of their bears from the DNR? We turned in 5 teeth in the last couple of years and we have got nothing from the DNR.They said they would send us the info ASAP.They said it would take about 6 mos ,It has now been over 2 years of waiting for them.Has anybody else had this problem?

I harvested a bear this year and the DNR took out the teeth. I haven't heard a thing myself. I've been told that I would receive some facts on the bear but as of yet all I've gotten is a sucessful harvest patch and and the rules brochure for this past years season. What's up with that?

If you checked your Bear at a gas station or taxidermist and not at a DNR station, they don't know what they are talking about. The DNR typically doesn;t send out the age info. YOur best bet is to call the ROSE LAKE feild office. That is were they process all carnivore stuff. They may be able to help you.

I shot a bear in Sept.1999. I received a post card 2 or 3 months ago, saying it was 4 yrs. old. So, I guess you need to just wait. I began to think I was not going to hear anything.

I shot a bear in Sept., 96. I received a card stating age the following Spring. I shot a nother bear in Sept., 99. When I didn't hear from them by Winter, 2000, I e-mailed them. I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but I received the age card shortly thereafter. I was told they were busy with the TB testing that the bear stuff was put on hold.

With all the TB testing of deer I would suspect that it's a pretty good guess that it's slowing down the bear info.

Just hold tight they will get to your bear. The last one i shot it took 2 years to hear from them .I guide for bear here in Bergland District and the guys are always calling me back up the next spring either telling me how old there bears was or asking me why they did not get there info back yet ,all as i can say is give our DNR some time they are very busy with the TB issue and the wolfs here in the U.P.
