Fished from 8:30- 12:30 today out from cotton Rd. What a mixed bag of fish out there today. Did not keep any fish today but caught probably 25-39 nice perch w/ a couple of jumbos throw in. Also 5 big gills on a jiggin rap tipped with red spikes, also saw alot more big gills come in for a look. Could not believe the amount of Bass that were beneath my hole most of the day.

Ice was in good shape besides the shoreline, 4-6 inches in the places that I drilled. Visibility was more than what I was expecting. I could see what was bottom in six f.o.w.

The fish seemed to turn on just as I was leaving.

thank you very much for the report! this is where i have been planning to go out tomorrow. how far out did you go and how did you get across the crack near shore?

There was about a two foot gap between shore and solid ice. then you had to walk 20 yrds. north to get over the crack. I was out alittle less than 1/2 a mile over some nice weeds.

Good luck, and get there early. Not much parking and I am guessing alot of guys.

Got out there tonight as well. fished from 2-530 and came home with 33 keepers! I want to get back out tomorrow, but with the zoo its been there on the weekends and that gap which is getting worse, i dont know if i want to risk it! I dont know how well that will hold up after everyone crosses that one spot you can get across. Its getting worse and id like to make it back in! Be safe, good luck!

Kind of a big deal

Keep in mind that the police ticket at this site daily, dont park on the road!!! have seen tickets everytime i go out. Now they have baricades showing you the limit to that parking lot, so it helps alot. Nothing worse than a slow day of fishing, and a $100 ticket on the windshield when you get back. Use the overflow lot on the north-west corner, and safe the ticket costs! oh and a special thanks to the guy that parked smack dab in the middle of the parking lot tonight, i didnt want to go home until you left anyway, so thanks. anyway, there are some BIG gills in there, not to mention those perch that are all over, good luck

Thats not an overflow lot on the NW corner....its private property and you will get ticketed.

they used to let you park there (for a couple years).....but that lot has been off limits for years now.

fished Cotton Rd. from 12:30 til 5 pm with a buddy and took 6 perch between us with only two keepers, 9" and 11"...moved four times and couldn't seem to find em. Also fished in 5FOW with visibility to the bottom...caught one rock bass...we were straight out and south if anything...probably should've gone north with the crowd...visibility was less the further we went out.

Be mindful when you park in the lot there not to overlap and block nor park on the sidewalk that is there as well. They will ticket you and take a picture of your vehicle for the record books. Watched em do it before.:evilsmile

With the way parking is at Cotton, one solution is if you see a home for sale on the lake, BUY IT.:lol::lol::lol:

its probably for more than just "ran out of meter time" ticket. its probably for something like obstructing traffic, or the sidewalk or something, im sure ther can tack on for blocking sidewalks, cars in, not enough room to make he turns, whatever.

On Tuesday this past week,, I got lucky and someone was pulling out just as I pulled in but,,,,,,,,, there was a cop parked in that other lot,, just watching people park there. He wasn't writing any tickets,,, don't know if he was just waiting for the guys to walk away or what??

yeah they were towin away anyone outside their bariers.and the people who thought it would be alright to just pull their car on the corner of the grass close to the street and park ...i think that is the kinda crap that hets the attention of the authorities:dizzy:please use common sense out their as finding acess to the lake is doing nothing but getting harder.

Talked to the guy who got towed while he was waiting for a ride home. He only had 8 perch and was not too happy with the party store owner who called the cops.:rant: Al :chillin:
