How is the ice off Cotton Rd? Has the fishing been anygood? Have heard a lot about this spot but never fished there, how do I get there from metro airport and where would I get bait and park. How has Brendenberg been, haven't fished there in a couple of weeks. Any info would be greatly appreciated, tight lines and be safe out there guys.

Cotton is basically 22 mile and Jefferson. Take 94 east to the M59 Selfridge ANG exit turn right to Jefferson the left to Cotton Rd. Parking can be a problem depending on the time of day and entering the ice is an adventure with a big crack out front. The fish are out there. Bait store at M59 and Jefferson.

There is open water ,about a 3 foot gap at the rocks! You have to tip toe on a couple rocks to get over and it was worse coming back in tonight! The little creek off the ramp opened it up after the rain. Want to go in the morning, but with all the foot traffic it might not be passable after too long! Be very careful! Water is only a foot or so deep, but enough to ruin your day! Be safe guys!

Not a soul on the ice when I drove by Brandenburg at 2pm today. Damn cold and windy! It almost looked like the ice blew out about 1/2mile out.

:yeahthat:
There was/is a strip of open water about 1/2 mile in front of Brandenberg.
Also, south of there (north of Goulet Point) was all open water as well right off of shore and out 1/4 mile.
This morning there was steam rolling up out there, so it probably hasn't even iced over yet. In any case, I am sure it is safe in front of the open water.
I did see one brave soul out there setting up a shanty at about 7:00 this morning. Fifty-fifty chance he froze solid before he got the shanty set up!
FREAKIN COLD!
