I fished from 8:30 to 11:30 am today ended up with one 25" northern, two 7" perch, 5 nice guills and 1 crappie.
The walk out is the reason I'm posting, slightly crusty with slush and water made for a real tough walk. I think it should be nice and solid by Sunday but I won't try it tom. unless I hear otherwise. 6-7" of solid ice. Water clarity good.
If you have a machine or much younger legs, I'm sure it would be fine Saturday.

What were they hitting on? Also if I can ask about how deep of water were you fishing. I have fished that lake a lot but only in the summer. I am going to get out there one of these days and ice fish it.

Thanks for the advice.

Perch & Pike 21ft on minnows and pimples on bottom. Guills and crappie 28ft - 19ft down on red spikes. Really light bite using 1/2 lb mono. The guills were hitting good when I left but I had to go to work. I lost my last, favorite ficious jig, time to reorder. The perils of using 1/2lb.:)
btw: I am a good fisherman my sonar has made me better, a lot better.
