Have a buddy up in the Houghton, Hanckock area that has a super hound that is getting older and hasn't been able to successfully breed. We have tried him with two different females and he seems to know whats up but just doesn't seem to get a lock. He has been seen by a vet and the vet says that all of the important parts appear to be fine. We are at wits end and are now ready for AI. Can anyone recommend a vet that performs this procedure and has anyone had this procedure performed with good or bad results? I have heard of the clinic in Indiana that specializes in the testing, storing and artificial breeding of dogs and have already spoken to them. If I don't find a vet in the UP or northern Wisconsin that specializes in this procedure I'm going for a road trip soon. Really need pups out of this hound....

Dr. Wilson (The Animal Clinic of Sterling Heights) does AI, collecting, storing, etc.......

They also have several other locations not sure if one is closer to you or not.

AI has become pretty much a perfect science when done by experienced folks. If it wasn't Bulldogs would not be in the top ten breeds ;)

You may also want to try calling http://www.familyfriendsvethospital.vetsuite.com/Templates/spotlight.aspx
Dr. Carpenter is listed as a "Bulldog" vet so they may also practice alot of AI. Although I do not think they store but if your looking to do a fresh AI that will not matter.

If those don't work heres a whole list of Bulldog vets you can call http://www.bullynet.com/vets.aspx. Most should have AI experience I would think.

As redvdog said, contact Family Friends Vet Hospital in GR. They also operate Great Lakes Canine Reproduction out of their facility. Dr. Carpenter and Dr. Shull are tremendous vets that are hunter friendly and have years of experience. Dr. Shull has GWP and Curly Coat Retrievers that she trials/tests as well as hunts with. I highly recommend them and their staff.

Doctor Schultz, in Lansing does everything you are lookng for .I have had dogs AI,ed.
You really don't have to use a vet to AI unless you are talking about shipping it, then it has to be extended with another solution.

If you need help collecting the specimen, I'm sure my beagle can do without his stuffed elephant for a few days. Please wash it before you send it back.

I'm starting to breed designer dogs...elephabeagle's
