Well I got a day off since I work for L'Anse Creuse Schools. So I ventured out to the Ira Twp./Fairhaven area. I was a little annoyed by the amount of slush and water on top of the ice. Every step I would break through about an inch of ice and then stop 3 inches down. Feet were soaked after setting up. I was glad to see that there is still 8 inches of solid ice under that mess. But I was not glad to see the water. It is extremely cloudy. I couldn't see my jigging rap 4 inches down!

I set up the Aqua Vu and could see less than a foot when it was on the bottom and I think the fish can't see very well. A couple perch bumped into the camera while swimming slowly. Took a couple early on blue/chrome jiggin rap with jensen egg.

Not looking like a good weekend out here guys/gals. Wind is going to be crazy and a cold front coming in too. Ice was very safe, but water clarity is very very poor. I was not right at the infamous Fairhaven DNR so not 100% sure on the clarity there. But I was only a few miles west of there.

Thanks for the report, I was thinking of hitting the ice on Friday, but figured it needed time to get hard and get clear. Your info confirmed my thoughts.:(

I was out there today as well and the water looked like a poop stain. The ramp at the DNR access is pretty messed up as of an hour ago. If you go tomorrow be prepared to get a wet foot.

I had a feeling all this heavy wet snow was going to have an affect on the ice this way.I`ll wait till after the cold weather maybe freezes the bottom up again.

Hit Fairhaven today myself. 1 lousy keeper and a handful of dinks. Water looked like chocolate milk at times. We couldn't believe the clouds of mud that we say drift by time to time. Put the Aqua-Vu back in it's case as it was rendered virtually useless by the water clarity.

All the fish we did see (and from a nearby shanty) came on minnows today.

Ice was good. (See ice conditions thread). Ramp was a mess. That slush shouldn't be an issue after Sat./Sun.

Looks like I wont miss anything this weekend. I am staying indoors away from that wind.

...and then there's this guy. I thought he might have had his account banned after last weeks tirade.

I missed last weeks tirade.(luckily) I wish folks wouldn't come on this site just to cause issues and complain. Maybe an anti? Thanks for the report though saved me a trip out.
