I dont quite understand this trade. Shaq sent to the Suns for Shawn Marion.
Before begin, let me state that I have always liked Shaq and know he will be a hall of famer, No doubt. But, why would the "run n gun" suns want a beaten up, old, slow Shaq? The dudes got knee, hip and back troubles along with being somewhere in the 350+ range.
I just dont see Shaq keeping up with this Suns fast paced offence. Unless they plan on using him for only 10 min. per game? Or just planting his big Butt under the basket and telling him to sit there and wait for Nash to pass
it to you. Again, like Shaq, but how does he fit in? Plus, im sure thats one real big,fat contract.

Actually I think the Suns wanted to dump Marion more than they wanted Shaq but the money was right and the Heat was willing...........lot more to the trade than what is being said..................Shaq is also happy to leave as D Wade was making background noise about not being in the limelight as much as he wanted and felt Shaq was hogging it.............

I think that this makes no sense at all. I dont think it help the Suns at all.

Im sure the Suns wanted to dump Marion. That was the buzz during the off season. But for Shaq? Just how does he fit into a run and gun team?:dizzy:

Could have sent the Matrix to plenty other teams and gotten a better fit for the Suns then Shaq. He's gotta have one BIG contract, not sure of the numbers but 12+ Mill. per year? How do you fit him on the Suns and pay him that kind of cash?

Now if this was the Pistons i could see it better. 'Stones are a slower, much more methodical team. Take as much time to set up the best shot, thats the stones game. I could see Shaq still able to give good minutes in that sceme.

I would have liked to see Marion on the Pistons. Guys got game and we might have been able to get him for Amir Johnson and a high draft pick.
Or some kind of deal like that.
