Hey all, I just wanted ask for prayers through a tough time. My aunt Connie was killed in a car accident Monday morning on her way home from work. From what I've heard, she lost control going around a corner, and was hit by an oncoming vehicle, killing her instantly (neighbors who were awake came out and she was already gone).
I'm not an emotional person at all, and most deaths don't hit me hard (as I see death as the ultimate phase in life...you are born, you live, you die). This is hitting me pretty hard though, because my uncle died tragically just 3 years ago. I can't even begin to understand what my cousins must be going through...
To make matters worse, she had 2 kids from a previous marriage. My 33 year old cousin Dan is facing one heck of a prison term which could put him away for life (and while I know he's not guilty, my words/beliefs unfortunately have no bearing in a court of law). On top of that, my other cousin (Jackie) was born with some mental disabilities, and Dan is now her legal guardian...
After already being dealt the legal blow, he's now got a plate full, being legal guardian of his disabled sister, and his mother's estate...Please, any judgement on the legal situation aside, PLEASE pray for them...my cousins are Josh/Jeremy Butler, and Dan/Jacky Gingrich. Also, my aunt had re-married, and her husband Carl had just lost HIS wife around the time my aunt lost her last husband (he lost his wife to brain cancer), so this is an extremely tough time for him as well.
I'm going to stop before I get more choked up thinking about how crappy the situation is, but just keep them in your prayers.
FYI: My avatar is a pic taken off the lake that my aunt lived on (and where I first learned how much I loved fishing...And she was the one who gave me my first Bible...)
