What does everyone think about fishing Sat with the wind and cold front moving in. Bad fishing or will they be on the bite?

It's really more a matter of finding them than anything else. I've found even when the fishing is "bad" so to speak I can get fish if I find them. Now will you limit? No but if you can find them you can catch them in most cases. Now where are they? I have no idea  I've got some people to talk to as the week goes on and see how the ice is.

I've never done real well after a front......Maybe it's just mind set.

Probably going to fairhaven.....going to have to see how those winds shape up....some cold air will be nice

crossed the clinton in mt clemens this morning and it is high and the color of chocolate milk. Water is going to be very dirty south of the river and spillway.

25 mph winds with gust up to 40 is what I'm more concerned about.!

But believe it or not,.........the weatherman's been wrong before!!:lol:

With all the rain we had, you might want to think about swimming Saturday.
When the fish turn off, they generally go deeper and stay neer the bottom. If you can find weeds in deeper water and get on top of them, you can still get a limit.

Good luck with that!!! I have a feeling that theres not much left there, a few guys fell in last weekend, thank God its not deep, so with the rain & snow, I would be suprised if you can get across. Wear your waders & take your spud....just in case. A life preserver wouldnt be a bad idea either!!

I'd say the Sport and Boat show at the Monroe Fairgrounds will be a safer bet as opposed to spudding, waders, life jackets, and crack jumping...

after last night the open water at the access was covered by slush and snow....and tough to see, seems the best place to cross it was to the right. Those guys who fell in must be blind...cuz last weekend it was obvious that there was open water there. The ice was holding up fairly well to my surprise....take your spud and keep it in front of ya:cool:

If you find the fish before the front passes on saturday you will do good I think. After that its crap shoot.Be safe on the ice is the main thing.

I was one of those guys who "fell in". It happened Thursday, thank god it was shallow and I had my hip-boots on. I'm gonna try there again Saturday, I have some boards from work that I'll leave at the crack.
