We are a 100% payout tournament. There is NO yearly membership to fish these events.
We will be limiting this years events to 15 boats per night. Anyone who fished with us during the 2007 season will have priority over those who did not should more than 15 boats show up to any event.
Max 2 anglers per boat. $30 per boat entry fee. $5 optional big bass pot
Take off is at 6:00 pm. Please register by 5:50 pm. Weigh in is 9:30 pm. There will be a 2 minute grace period. After 2 minutes there will be a 1 pound per minute penalty.
5 fish limit per team.
Every effort will be made to keep fish alive. Dead fish will result in a ¼ pound (4 ounces) penalty. You may weigh in only ONE dead bass. Keep your fish alive!!!
Any ties will be broken by big bass weight.
All state and local fishing regulations must be followed.
Sportsmanship and courtesy will be shown by all teams entered. This will be shown towards fellow tournament anglers as well as any local fishermen or property owners.

Mike,
I would like to know if you can adopt a rule concerning the Abuse of shorts and off target fish during tourneys.
I and others have witnessed people slamming fish around, tossing, kicking, slamming into the boat decks etc etc.Having idiot child tantrums. I would like to see it mentioned if its seen you will be disqualified. I could have video'd it last year.
My camera isnt going to lie and i can post the video for everyone to see.

I was there, I seen it, Im not gonna mention names as it was last season, but i and Pwog are not gonna just see something like that go unchecked!
Every fish that swims needs and deserves our respect, just because an angler is only catching shorts fish or off species fish is absolutly no reason to abuse or diminish the ability of the fish to survive.
It all goes to etithics, if you dont have it when your alone fishing how can you when its a tournament!
We were the new guy's when we seen it, so we decided to not say anything but its a new season and that kind of thing just can not be allowed to happen!
I suspect the person in question will know who he is when he reads this, I/we mean no harm, just rather bringing a serious point of concern to the forfront.
We all love to fish and therfor should hold the fish in the highest reguard, not the reverse, dont punnish a fish for biting, catching is the big deal if its not legal just release it, DONT ABUSE IT!

i think it is implied that any violation of DNR game laws would equal an immediate DQ.... whatever it may be. Obviously this would require a bit of discretion... for instance, i wouldn't DQ someone if they were running on plane at 7:40 on little whitefish and it was an honest mistake - heck i've forgot about no wake times before..... but something that is re-occuring or flagarant such as purposely mishandling or abusing fish (wanton waste) should not be tolerated and anglers should not hesitate to report this.
It sounds like I should point this out prior to launch so everyone is on the same page.

Everyone will agree NO fish should be harmed, as that's the law,and for other obvious reasons.
But exactly what constitues "unsportsmanlike conduct" or whatever you wanna call it, needs to be precisely & generally agreed upon by all concerned parties PRIOR to start.
My concern is that one boat (team) of anglers will unilaterally get to decide someone's DQ'd based solely on what they witneseed, as this poses a conflict of interest. We can't have one team point out at weigh-in that another should be DQ'd for something. If a boat is to be DQ'd, it must be done on-the-spot by the administrator and/or a censensus of contestants, or it's not fair or objective.
No doubt I have sworn sometimes when frustrated and pissed in a tourney, and if that alone can get me DQ'd:yikes:, I wanna know about it ahead of time. Then I guess I better break out the sensored-versions of my standard berations or make sure my decibel output is very low.:evilsmile.
But again, having teams out there policing other teams when all are trying to win $ seems to me a mess in the making.

I'll leave them alone when they leave me alone! After all... it's always the rockbass that starts it... he bit my lure... I didn't ask him to or tell him it was o.k. It's like he's trespassing on my lure... therefore he needs to be punished!

Brandon, we'll all just agree to be "nice" to the fish and that will be that. As far as I'm concerned you can cuss all you want at YOURSELF... and if you wish to break your OWN equipment... well... that's up to you I guess.

first off.. i won't get in the middle of any "he-said she-said" type confrontations. If several people come up as witnesses to any rule breaking or have definitive proof... action will be taken.. otherwise the best i can do is give a warning.
I will also specify that if you do witness something, weighin is NOT the place to report it. The lakes we fish are not big and i have a cell phone.... find me on the lake or call me and report the issue immediatley.
As for "unsportsmanlike conduct" - we're all adults and i'm not a baby sitter. There are no rules against fishing too close to each other, cursing, or issues with lakeshore land owners etc... Disagreements will happen and i expect everyone to be able to handle these incidents with a certain amount of maturity if they arise and i wouldn't DQ anyone unless it is a last resort....

Well said.
Now, is it spring yet? Looking outside at the snow falling down (pretty heavy at the moment) I'm going to have to say no.

As Mike said, well said Justin. Just needed to be said to avoid a possible big DQ weigh-in dispute debacle. And be nice to fish - and don't swear too loud at your 25th dink(mental note:idea:).
Tamarack, isn't that a shallow lake?
I've never fished it. I drove to the boat launch once, looked @ the posted contour map, and drove to Townline.

tamarack is pretty shallow with a couple deep holes (20'), the SW and W sides are deeper. It has a soft bottom and a ton of weeds. I run full out pretty much all the way around the lake, so navigation really isn't an issue as long as you stick to the E, S, W shore lines. they got a new ramp a year or 2 ago also. (so did bass lake this year btw).
you shoulda stayed, its FULL of pike:lol:

I DO like fishing for pike:idea:...but that hasn't always helped me fishing against you guys!
But with such limited deep water, the population is prob most dinks, eh?

Funny thing is, in the 4 or 5 times I've been on Tamarack... I've never even got piked off!! LOL!!
Dinks you say? Not really... I've caught more keepers in that lake than dinks... probably 2-1. I think it fishes pretty well.

Ya I also say it fishes well, Ive been catching good bass there sence i was a kid, the pike, well they tend do be hammer handles ya with the occasional decent fish but Tamarac is not what i would call a stunted lake, there are panfish of massive proportions, Ive bed fished it for gills befor and was amazed at the size.

shallow yes... dinks.. not really. It seems like someone almost always brings in a 4-5lber there... average keeper bass is probalby 17". It is shallow but its loaded with little gills and tons of weeds and cover.
and i've been piked off plenty there! (which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone) who's ever fished with me)

I was only referring to the northerns being somewhat stunted, as big pike need cold water. I can see bass growing well in that enviornment, I look forward to fishing it.

i did better last year.. not nearly as many bite-offs
and i did bring a 7-8lb pike to the boat on tamarack a year or 2 ago during a tourney... got him on a finesse split shot rig and he swam right to the boat. i was playing him gingerly cuz i thought he was a 6lb bass.. swam up to the boat, we locked eyes and he said enough of this 6lb test.....
