Are Hanson reels still available?

Hi, I was wondering if someone can tell me if reels made by Leon Hanson are still available? I have not been able to find anything suggesting he is still making reels. Also, I was told there is a reel maker in Baldwin? Does anyone have any informaton about him and his reels? Thanks in advance.

Actually, I do. I was curious, though, as to why they are not availabe and what has become of him, as I new to this type of fishing.

Like Ron said he only made a small batch of these reels, they are hard to find now with a big price tag on them. Keith made a reel called Mykiss which is basically the same thing but made out of better alum. and a few other modifications. The finish on these reels are bomb proof if you get the matt finish. He made two different styles, mykiss 1 and a mykiss 2. The 1 has a solid backplate and the two has a ported. I just got a solid a couple months ago and I will hardly fish with my ported now. The price tag on these are around 500 now and you have to buy them used but I've seen a few for sale the last few months.

You said you were new to this kind of fishing so I didnt know if you've heard of this pin.
