My fishing partner fished today from 2-5 caught 3 gills and 1 bass on a tip up. Fishing was terrible slow with almost no bite according to him. He did say the fish he caught were huge, just couldn't catch a consistant bite.

Were giving it another shot tomorrow, I wil provide report on Monday

Hamlin was doing good last week but after a heavy snow cover it gets spotty quick. Snow cover causes the weeds to die and depletes the oxygen, as you found this has a real negative effect on the fishing. Two things hamlin has is big gills and weeds!

Head west, deeper water. 26 ft is usually the goal.

Has anyone fished upper Hamlin resently ?
How much ice?
How much snow on the ice ?
How was the fishing?
