Toilet Bowl Pic

Kind of a cool pic from the shanty just before we lost our ice. I guess I must have made a little bow in the ice (may I shouldn't have been out?) because the water from the all the slop was rushing in to my hole and swirling like a toilet bowl. Kind of tough to keep my jig vertical:D.

Thats a pretty cool pic, never saw anything like that before... was that constant the whole time you were out?

Just that one hole really. Must have been a low spot or something. Marked a few fish and caught a couple but it was too much to deal with so I moved on.

have seen that on late ice before as the snow was melting off fish seemed to like it caught the best gills i ever got on lake ovid great pic

Seen that on 4 mile lake about 20 years ago. Limited out on jumbo perch. Fish were hitting everything you dropped in the hole.

I had that happen here on birch lake this year. A few days before the last warm up. Cut a hole and the surrounding water made a whirlpool effect till the surrounding water drained away.

I have seen that before when it rains on the ice. Watch your tip ups if you see that again because the whirlpool will widen the hole and suck them under, trust me.
