I am temporarily living in Lansing, down from the great UP and know of about zero places to fish within an hours drive. Could somebody name a couple lakes with some fishing potential and decent ice? I really need to get out and would appreciate any help offered. The species is not important, but I would be more than pleased to pull up a few decent crappies, perch, or bluegills. Thanks.

Eaton County is full of small lakes that hold some nice fish. Look around the Olivet and Hastings areas. You'll know where to fish on them becasue we will be out there knockin the crap out of them lol.

If you make it down to Jackson there are a ton of good lakes. Clark Lake and Wamplers hold good amounts of walleye and nice pike. Vandercook Lake holds ginormous pike and lots of gills.

Park Lake has good perch and crappies. Muskrat has good crappies. Mud Lake has nice gills. Shoot me a pm if you need specifics on how to fish these lakes.
