Actually me and my brother (NBman) are heading over there shortly. I think we are going to the south lake tonight and tomorrow we are going to the big lake for at least part of the day. We'll let you know when we return either sat night or sunday.

Anyways far as Big lake give R&M Sport and Bait shop a call. There up at the Corner of H33 and CR-98(Ten Curves) just up in Helmer Bay. Had a cabin on the North side of the Big lake and Always got my ice reports and fish reports from them.

Never made it to the big lake. Seemed like the fishing was slow everywhere this weekend. There was a lot of slush and snow on the south lake and we only measured 9 inches of ice where we were at.

Rained here last night. Looking out my window the big lake looks real slushy.

Usually not much difference in the lakes for ice cover. Should be thick enough, but a local report after things refreeze tomorrow would be best.

As far as the lakes go, both for walleyes and perch. The Big lake has a better reputation for perch. No specs in either lake that I'm aware of. Bluegills much more in the South lake, but perch/pike/walleye dominate.

There will be others fishing, there's alot of lake to chose from. Have a good time and let us know how it goes.
