This is someone I call a friend, his son, 2.5 years old, was taken home to the Lord this past Saturday, this is his 'speach' during the service Tuesday in Birmingham, man if this doesn't FIRE you up - I'm not sure there is any spark left in your system for Christ.

Watch them in order -

The way he took this from a horriable 'of the flesh' thing and turned it into a glory to God is just remarkable.

As a person that has lost his son, this hit home, hard, on my heart and has given me an entirely new outlook on the 'whys' of such an event.

Enjoy - strange thing to say about a memorial service for a 2.5 year old child, but, Enjoy -

Thanks for that, Ferg, very inspiring indeed to hear him dealing and talking about this with such strength. That guy has a level of faith and courage that I can only aspire to reach some day.

It's got to be extremely difficult to lose a child like that. I cannot even imagine. Indeed he has increadible strength to use his childs death to challenge Christians to become better Christians, and non-believes to step up.

With that said, I wonder how he can draw a line from his childs death, to his child being a great avangalist and saving all these lives on earth. He is using his childs death as a tool to challenge others. I don't believe that entitles his child to eternal life.

Was his child able to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior?

Did his child ask the Lord to forgive him for his sins?

Did the child ask for eternal life.

For we all have sinned and have fallen short of the kingdom of heaven.

I would have loved to hear him quote a verse in the bible that guarantees children a place in heaven. He can't because there isn't one. We can HOPE that our loving Lord has a special place in heaven for children. I won't know until I get there.

My Mom had still born twins, I hope to someday meet them. However i'm not sure where they are. I wish I did!

I pray his child is in heaven. He can preach all he wants, and bring as many people to God using his childs life as a tool, however that in itself will not earn his child a place at the feet of Christ. Only YOU can!

In jewish law a child is not considered to be accountable till the age of 12. Up until that age they are not considered under the law. I would believe this holds true even in New Testament times.

This passage is in 2 Samuel 12:13-23. It is in reference to David's adultery with Bathsheeba (and thus conceiving a son) and the murder of her husband Uriah. Verse 23 holds the key, when David says that he shall go to his son, but his son cannot return to him.

David's son died and went to heaven. David eventually died and did the same. His sin had grave consequences, but God's forgiveness covered his sin.

13 Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD."
Nathan replied, "The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have made the enemies of the LORD show utter contempt, the son born to you will die."

15 After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah's wife had borne to David, and he became ill. 16 David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and went into his house and spent the nights lying on the ground. 17 The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and he would not eat any food with them.

18 On the seventh day the child died. David's servants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they thought, "While the child was still living, we spoke to David but he would not listen to us. How can we tell him the child is dead? He may do something desperate."

19 David noticed that his servants were whispering among themselves and he realized the child was dead. "Is the child dead?" he asked.
"Yes," they replied, "he is dead."

20 Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.

21 His servants asked him, "Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat!"

22 He answered, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, 'Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.' 23 But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."
