I haven't yet, but I transferred a porter to the secondary and I'm getting everything ready for a batch tomorrow. Tomorrow's brew will be another porter that will be split into two 2.5 gallon batches. One will be a Blueberry Porter and the other a Raspberry Porter. I've never done either, but I'm getting the itch to start experimenting. :)

What you all got going out there?

Good luck with your batch. I will be getting started with one this week. Will be putting a batch in bottles in a few hours. I have a recommendation for your fruity porter.......Make sure you add your fruit during the secondary fermentation phase to get the most from the flavor. The primary fermentation will become so vigorous that the subtleness of the certain fruits will be lacking. This advice come from past experience. Once again, good luck!

Nine Milly...thanks for the tip. From what I've been reading that looks to be the best bet. I plan on using 2lbs of blueberrys/raspberrys for each batch. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I did a lot of bottling this weekend, well, not a ton but a carboy worth anyhow. I also did a lot of shopping and am looking for a great kit for this now empty carboy.

Helped my son put together a pale ale on Saturday.
Also went to Bells and picked up a few things. A carboy handle ,some yeast and a couple of Bells glasses.

I've got a 5 gal batch of Brewers Best Oktoberfest that I'm going to bottle tomorrow. I'll know in a couple of weeks how it turned out.

Let me know how that Octoberfest turns out. I've looked at that a couple times but haven't tried it yet. I may want to give it a shot, but I would probably buy some liquid yeast to use with the kit instead of the dry yeast included.

Keep us posted. Thanks.

Going to pick up some corks tomorrow and then bottle a cyser.

Next week, hopefully, I’ll be able to brew up a batch, not sure exactly which style yet.

Its in the bottles right now. Just need to wait for as long as I can stand it. Which is usually sooner than I should. I get my Brewers Best kits from Hopmans Supply in Drayton Plains. Their ph# is 248 674 4677. As for the yeast... they include a dry pack of Danstar's Nottingham. I did a red ale batch that I bumped up the gravity a bit from was in the kit. 24 hrs later there was a three inch krausen on top. That yeast is a no brainer utility yeast. I don't think its worth the extra effort to do a liquid starter unless you shooting for a different taste.

Any updates on that Oktoberfest yet?
