Hi all,
Have been living in birch run since spring time, and trying to find some local lakes for panfish. Saw a sign for holloway reservoir off M-15, always heard about the walleye there, but have never fished it. Wondering how the panfishing there is and what the main target is, (perch, gills, or crappie). Also if there are any other lakes around that are good panfish lakes. Any info would be apprieciated. Thank You.

Caught alot of crappie out of Holloway in the spring time fishing around various structure. Never really done any good in winter. Not to mention the ice out there can always be a little dicey. There are alot of little fishing spots down around the Fenton-Holly area that are great for panfish, and that's only about a 45 minute drive for ya. Good luck.:)

25 years ago or so, they claimed Holloway was one of the best crappie waters in Michigan. ALot of articles in magazines about the crappie fishing there. I tried it a couple times back then but never had much success. ALot of guys fished it then. Most were right off the launch in the old river bed. Have no idea what happened since then. Very seldom see any ice fishing reports from there.

I heard that the quality of water that you are catching these fish were pretty polluted? I have fished it in the summer and the water always was a brown murky color.

The Flint river drains through farm fields for the most part, that's why it has a lot of sediment.

I've tried Holloway through the ice several times but it's always been a skunk for me.

They drain it down about 3 ft in the fall and I'm sure that changes a lot of patterns for the fish.

I Drove Down To The Boat Launch Off Of Henderson And Checked It Out Last Night. There Were Four Guys Out There Just Off Shore About 50 Yards. Talked To One Of Them Said He Caught Some Small Perch. Im Going Next Weekend Weather Permitting. If Anyone Is Fishing There Or Has Fished There Let Me Know How You Did. I Have Never Fished There Before And Need Some Help. Thanks.
