i have chili peppers coming out my ears from my garden so i was wondering how to dry them out. i heard just tie them to a string and let them hang to dry. any suggestions?

Wild Bill,
Drying works - just run a thread thru the stem and let them hang in a place where there is good air circulation. Once they are dry, you can grind them and then put them in jars - add a lable and them make good gifts.
Also, one year when I had a bunch of them, I took some and "blackened" them in a black iron skillet then put them in a pickling brine. Just keep them in the firge. Anytime I wanted to add a little spice to the flavor of a dish, all I needed was a TSP or so of the liquid. Also, blenderized a few of the pickeled peppers with tomato sauce and paste to make my own hot sauce (hot enough to be very hot but still able to taste the food that it is used on.)

thanks ss. i planted them so i could put them in with my tomatoes when canning for chili but the plants really took off and i have tons of them.
