Thanks

I would go down to the Govt. Center and buy a plat book for Grand Traverse county ($30 I think) That will show all the public land in the county in pretty good detail. From that point you will just have to drive around and see what looks good. Most people are too selfish to share their hunting spots with people who ask, so you will have better luck finding your own spots. That's what I did.

Thanks for filling out your profile.
Begin to drive around in the area south and southeast of TC. There's a great deal of public land in those areas. Get a good set of county maps.......Michigan County Map Guide published by MUCC is my favorite.......and look for brushy, thicker cover with plenty of edges. Cutover aspen areas are always a good bet for small game.
Get to know that Jumpshootin' guy. He's a good one on the site and has knowledge of the area.
I see that you are a teacher. Where?
I am a retired teacher having taught in Wyoming, MI (six years) and Onekama, MI (Manistee County) for twenty-five years.

Hello and welcome, There are alot of good guys on this site that are full of info. A Gazetteer will also give you a general idea of the area. Benzie Co. has a good deal of state/fed land as well as kalkaska Co. Shoot me a PM and maybe we can look for some squirrels but, i can't seem to find to many bunnies around here. Good luck and get out there.
