Can anyone help a newbie out with some suggestions on where to fish on Little Bay De Noc? I will be heading up there Wednesday, January 23 and staying for a few days. I would greatly appreciate suggestions on reefs to fish or humps to fish. Does anyone happen to have a current report for up there. Any information is greatly appreciated.

When I fished up there in the past these coordinates produced fish. They were recommended by one of the guides up there.

N45 52.915 W86 58.079

N45 52.250 W86 59.440

You can gain access from the public access in Kipling, just north of Gladstone.
Also go to Bayview Bait and Tackle and talk to the bait shop guy he can tell you where the action is.

Tip for the bay...try to avoid the crowds as much as possible. The walleye up there spook easy.

Good Luck

Ditto that on getting away from the crowds whenever possible. Lots of water to fish up here. The fact that you're coming mid week is also good. Gets pretty nuts out here on the weekends.

Typical morning and evening bite on structure (reefs and steep breaklines.) Mid day, your best bet (for walleyes, anyway,) is big sucker minnows under tip-ups over the deep mud flats in the basin areas of the bay. Whitefish are also a good option during mid day. You'll have to be south of Gladstone to catch whities.
