I am going tomorrow or Saturday. Doesn't open until Noon tomorrow, which is a bummer. I want to go Friday to avoid the crowds on Saturday, was hoping to go Friday morning. If I don't make it tomorrow afternoon I'll go Saturday morning.

got there thursday @ 4:30. it was pleasant with no crowds of people to push through. lotsa boats on display, lotsa guides and lodges booths. seems like if your going to try to buy something in peticular? do your homework. I saw stuff that sure was not considered "a deal" regardless...it did kill 3 hours in mid january:) $5.00 to park and $9.00 to get in. I heard wendy's had discount coupons. One other thing, I was hoping to see endless tables of pencil plugs for whipping to choose from? I did not see one????

Anyone hoping to see Dan Donarski seminars ..forget it..he got the 'call up' 10 days ago and is not speaking. Attended 3 other seminars..not much, if anything new. Boats were a mixture of 07 and 08's. G3 v210 advantage is sweet, but for the 50K price tag..i'll go with a little less engine and a foot less and save 15K..As Flying Wasp stated..crowds were light, parking easy, no line ups or waits for anything. I Would also agree with FW, most sales...WEREN'T(except on 'low end' items) Most new lures(08 intros) from major manufacturers were conspicuously absent...for those contemplating buying a new boat at show SALE prices..i would suggest shop around, check online..there are better prices to be had............Neal must have stepped away from the booth a minute as we walked in..off to illinois in a few moments for the muskie show......P.S. To Walleye Mike.....try to catch you on sunday at BP

Something you rarely see at shows. I do know that some were there because I saw them and talked to the guy several times about other things.
A lot of guys were looking and buying the new Rabble Rouser though. Lot of customers using them for whipping.
Bob, the man that is co-owner of the Pop's Rabble Rouser told me that he actually sold out of two color patterns on the RR by 7 pm yesterday and he will not have new ones until later this spring. But, still plenty to choose from.
Neal must have stepped away from the booth a minute as we walked in
Geez, I left once to make wee wee.
Was working the booth by myself so I didnt see much of the show. I did see Ninja, Big Game Hunter, and Jake, from the site. We collected a good 2000 + canned foods, so that went well.
I have a few passes if anyone wants to stop by in Madisin Heights and pick them up.

Got there at 3. I was surprised at the amount of people there. I was satisfied with the amount of tackle available. Didn't really check out the outfitters or boats. Found some reasonable deals on walleye boards (19.99), reef runners, and big board releases. Saw Ninja there and he seemed to have a little less stuff than last year.
The biggest thing I noticed about going early on the first day is that everyone is in a much better mood. Everybody smiling and laughing and being very helpful instead of Sat when they're beat down from the show hours.
Went to 2 seminars. Deep water salmon with Capt Jay and general slamon trout trolling with Capt Jerry. I really enjoyed the deep water seminar and picked up some good ideas. The second one I was dissappointed in. Nice enough guy but definitely not a seminar guy. Most of the info he gave could have been covered in 3 minutes. Probably a great guy to talk one on one with. I was going to go to his walleye seminar too but backed out after the first. Caught the tail end of Kim Strickers presentation and it seemed like he did a good job.

Had a blast at the show. I thought there were more vendors than last year too. I wanted to see Dan Donarski`s seminar on Upper Penninsula fishing opportunitys but as stated earlier, he was called up to serve. Taped MuskieBobs seminar on Lake Ultimate. KD Outdoors, Franks, Lakeside, GanderMntn as well as others had nice setups. The walleye shore lunch was great. $8 got ya a bellyfull. Good show. I might go back today or tommorow too.

I went today...it was a little busy but not too bad. D&B Fishing has a ton of crawler harnesses at their display, 10 for $9. Its a great deal. I bought 40 harnesses so I should be all squared away for a few years. They also had harnesses with some new color patterns on the blades, red hooks and red leader line. Never saw those before so I bought a few to check it out.
Great way to get out in the winter to check out some fishing gear.

The clown is gone and will not be replaced until spring. All the other colors that he sold out of will be replaced later this evening. Someone is on their way down with more stock.
Kinda fun to be using someone's laptop to check in on the various msg boards while hanging out at the show,.

Taking a break and thought I would give a progress report to those thinking of coming down this afternoon or tomorrow. Big crowds and I am not hearing anyone complaining. BTW, the Walleye Association has some dislays showing wirelining and whipping.
Still a lot of those Rabble Rouser lures left but they have sold out of many color patterns again. You can find them in the display area for Lakeside Fishing Shop.
Ninja over at KD Outdoors has the Artic Armor Suits on sale for $299 and I saw a close-out on waders for women. Just a hint to some of the guys who want to try to get their wives or girlfriends involved.
There are blades and beads everywhere for those who want to tie their own harnesses.
Probably one of the best shows we have seen in years.

Tried to say hi Ken but you had just bailed to find the extra large soft bait the little girl had. Picked up some teardrops from KD and the paint is about it. Fun time lots to see. I saw a ton of familiar faces around there but couldn't place names wondering how many people I knew from this site.

Man that place was packed. Tried getting there in time to meet Hotwired and Houghton Laker but didn't find the booth in time. Ended up talking to a nice guy with a beard. Try and manuver with the wife and three little girls, geez. Ended up picking up more blades, few beads and some quick change clevis' from Fishlander. Talked to the Fishlander boys and I'm going to be getting a couple sets of triple rod holders from them also. Too bad they didn't have any there at the show. Just seems there wasn't that many good deals. Basically the same prices that you find at the shows. Couldn't find a whipping stick either.

It was nice to meet a few new people, and get some much needed help selecting some spoons for wirelining the river!!!;)
Finally found the chubby darter that I was looking for thanks to Ninja!!!! The price was right also, Thanks again Matt!!!!!
I picked up one of those pots from TJ's! Hot Wired and Houghton Laker pointed it out to me, thanks guys I'm $50 poorer.. I also picked up a few small nil's masters for hand lining. I bet they put a few fish in the box next year.

Stayed in our booth for virtually the entire show. Did get a chance to slip out and meet Ninja, but was too busy working the show to get around to see anyone else...so unless you got around to see me...I apologize! Maybe we'll meet in GR.
The crowds were much larger than they have been in the past and the crowd on Sunday was a pleasant surprise. Usually things start to wind down about 1 p.m. on Sunday, but this year it seemed to only get more crowded!

He ended up running out of black, blaze orange, junebug, and super glow blue and he darn near run out of many other colors as well. He has them all, he just didn't bring enough to the show.

So did anyone buy anything they might consider "high dollar" at the show? My biggest purchase was a 7'6" medium extra fast spinning rod from B&R Outlaw rods. Talked to the owner for quite some time. After playing with all the other higher end rods at the show I chose to buy one of his. $129 rod. Great warrantee too.
Anyone buy a boat? New piece of electronics? Rod? Reel?
Also, did anyone else notice the absence of some of the "normal" vendors? Shimano did not have their big booth. Diawa didn't have much of a presence. NO Basscat boats that I could find.
