Hows the ice in the Ogemaw area. Fish a lake in Lupton and want to save the hour drive. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm 2 miles from the Iosco/Ogemaw line and the lakes that freeze up first
still have plenty of ice on them. Loon Lake (Iosco) only had a few inches
when the warm spell hit. I would definitely stay off that one for a while.

I guess it depends on if ur lake is an early freezer or a late one like Loon.

Is the fishing any good on those lakes up near Lupton area? I've spent time ujp there hunting and on the ORV trails, seen the lakes, but ever heard if anybody ever catches much, other than a few dinky panfish and bullheads.

My place is on George, we had good ice before the thaw last week. I imagine it wasn't hurt too badly.

The lakes in the park is mostly smaller panfish, lots of machine traffic and yoyo's driving 80 past you.
