Just watched Bob hunting sheep in B.C Canada. What a great show it was, Bob spent 2 weeks before the hunt with full gear on walking/hiking tring to get ready for this Rocky Mountain hunt @ 6500'+. They stayed in tents when they got to there "base camp". Then would go for day hunts from there, after the 3-4 days they found a "shooter" pack of sheep.

Bob and his guide settled on a sheep, then bob readied himself for the shot and missed. Bob in shot again and missed, It was a kick in the N&^% for bob but thats hunting. I have to say bob is one of the "BEST" hunters in my eyes. What do you guys think of Bob.

I like him. He seems to be genuinely excited when he has success. I'm sure everyone could get jaded when you get the chance to shoot at trophy game all the time. I also like Tred Barta, Mike Hanback, Babe Winkleman, Ron Spomer, Gerald McRaney, Huntley, Rob Trott, and our own MOOD crew.

I could live without those Tecomate guys, Larry Wieshund (sp?), Chris Dorsey, Jackie Bushman and that guy who hunts with SCI.

Bob is my favorite of all the "pro's". He seems genuine and just seems like a guy that is more wrapped up in the hunt and all its components, then what is on the top of the deers head. I think he could sit in any of our deer camps and he'd feel right at home. I agree, I could spend the rest of my life without watching jackie bushman shoot another whitetail. I did get a good chuckle when Larry missed that monster whitetail on the challenge though.

When bob was on this hunt they " packed " everything up the mnt. Enough food for all the guys for 5-7 days. It was awesome watching him prepair for the "long" 300-400 yd. shot that he missed. At one point he was worked up pretty good so he had to settle down and take some deep breaths.

I think that Bob Faulkrod is one of the greatest all-around hunters I've ever watched. He sure is a down to earth type of hunter ( atleast on tv ).

I'll be the stick in the mud here. I met Bob quite some time ago (late 80's) at Anderson's Archery and he seemed like a jerk in person. Kinda 'above you' attitude.....Myles Keller was the same way. Maybe Bob was having a bad day, peeved about something,I dunno, just my impression. I haven't followed his career so can't speak of any shows he's done. Now to be optimistic.....Tom Jennings,Wensels,Jerry Peterson,Chuck Adams,Ted 'well,he's just Ted',and Bob Munger 'didn't even know who he was at the time, dang it!' were all stand up guys and more than willing to chat with us lowly working folks....:)

First let me start out be saying that I try not to sling mud on-line, but you asked for opinions. Thought I would share with you what was told to me by someone who has first hand experience with Bob.

I met a couple of guys on a recent hunting trip who have first hand experience with Bob when he was an outfitter. Bob was running a caribou camp and these guys and a group of friends booked a hunt with Bob. The 8 hunters flown out to camp and were told the pilot would make a return trip that afternoon with the remainder of their gear and camp supplies. The pilot never showed up leaving them stranded for a week with the only food being a sack of potatoes and a case of coke (which was brought by the hunters). They survived the week on some fish they were able to catch and the potatoes. The only caribou they saw that week was a cow which the group shot for camp meat. When they returned and confronted Bob, his response was “So what, get over it”. This same group knew some of the hunters that were about to head out into the field for their
"hunt". They were told the same thing that the pilot would return with supplies. Same story for them, minus the coke.

Makes you wonder about the run in Bob had with some cowboys out west. Bob must have said/done something that really set them off because they almost beat him to death. He had to be medivac’d out.

Sort of makes it tough to watch his show. He doesn’t deserve my attention to watch his show knowing he treated people the way he did with no remorse. Makes it worse knowing he's a hunter and he does this to other hunters.

Frankie,
I have never meet/talked to Bob Faulkrod first hand. I do find your post to be interesting. As far as I know Bob could be the biggest A HOLE a guy could ever meet. Is it unlikely that he is an A HOLE maybe.

I find it hard to believe Bob would be that way, If he was then I'm about 99% sure he wouldnt be where he today. You don't get to the top with backers like he has by being an A HOLE.

This is just my .02 worth, and I in NO WAY am defending Bob if he did do that to your hunting buds. Like I said I have NEVER TALKED WITH BOB in person.

Just remember that you can be seeing a whole different person once that camera is on....tis why it is called 'acting'.......

I'll respond to that with only two words.... HILLARY CLINTON. I think you might be a bit nieve if you think you can't gain stature and a loyal following without being a complete A-Hole.

I wish I didn't know what I do. And I truly hope I am wrong. I think his show would be truly entertaining. But like I said, the experinece with the caribou camp was from first hand experience.
